What Is Mineral Makeup?

Mineral makeup is a finely milled powder foundation or cosmetic. It's made up of 100% natural minerals, hence the name. Common mineral included in mineral makeup, like the Liquid Minerals A Foundation, are titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, mica and iron oxide.

Do You Need Primer With Mineral Foundation?

A primer isn't needed when using Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup Foundation. However, if you do wish to use one, we recommend using one of the Jane Iredale mineral primers to avoid clogging pores.

Key ingredients:

Hyaluronic Acid: With the Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals Foundation, this demonstrates exceptional hydrophilic properties. It attracts and binds up to 1800 times its molecular weight in water. Hyaluronic acid also protects the skin from UVB rays, which can cause sunspots.

Algae Extract: This is a miracle ingredient full of incredible therapeutic benefits for the skin. It conditions, hydrates, softens, and detoxifies the skin, replenishing essential vitamins and minerals.

Mica: This is provides the diamond pearlescent pigment in this Jane Iredale Foundation

Aloe Vera: This is best known for its soothing and softening benefits, it also reduces irritation and inflammations

Coenzyme Q10: Found naturally in all body cells. It's vital for energy production to fulfil the skin's regeneration and repair.

Titanium Dioxide This is derived from titanium, and is a highly reflective white chalky mineral. Non-irritating and non-allergic, titanium dioxide is non-comedogenic. One of the most effective ingredients for sun protection.

Zinc Oxide: This safe, physical broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen active provides a physical barrier to reflect and absorb UV radiation.

Vitamin C: In the Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals Foundation, this acts as a potent antioxidant that neutralises free radicals and aids in the skin's natural regeneration process, which helps to repair damaged skin cells.
