Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads Star Ingredient

The clinically proven anti-aging ingredient, bakuchiol, acts in a similar way to retinol, but doesn't cause any peeling or irritation. Therefore, this means that it has the ability to stimulate cell turnover to improve acne and skin texture. As well as this, it also stimulates collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. This formula combines bakuchiol with niacinamide to repair the skin barrier, prevent water loss, and regulate sebum production.

Bakuchiol Reface Pads from Indeed Labs are 100% cotton and biodegradable. These multi-benefit pads are suitable for all skin types and can be used daily.

Is Bakuchiol Better Than Retinol?

Bakuchiol is the first natural alternative to retinol that is clinically proven to significantly reduce wrinkles and hyperpigmentation without causing irritation, as is common with using retinol. As well as this, bakuchiol products, Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads, are safe to use during pregnancy, as well as during the day unlike retinol.

Key ingredients:

Bakuchiol: Bakuchiol is a purified meroterpene phenol found in many botanical sources. It behaves similarly to retinol (targets retinoic acid receptors), however, is thought to be much gentler and reduce skin irritation. Bakuchiol has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour, anti-bacterial, and anti-acne properties. It is a clinically proven anti-aging ingredient that improves signs of photoaging.

It stimulates collagen I, III, IV production, thereby reducing wrinkle surface area, and has antioxidant activity which protects the skin from environmental free radicals and UV-radiation induced damage. It also improves hyperpigmentation (dark spots/sun spots) as it inhibits 2 key enzymes involved in excess melanin (skin pigment), tyrosinase and alpha-melanin stimulating hormone.

Niacinamide: Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is a water soluble vitamin that plays a role in various cellular processes within the skin, and has many skin restorative properties. Niacinamide is a powerhouse vitamin that rebuilds skin barrier lipids (ceramides), controls excess sebum production, reduces pigmentation (regulates melanin production), protects against UV-photo damage, and is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial.

Its ability to restore the skin barrier lipids helps to prevent water loss (water evaporation) from the skin immediately and overtime.

Hydroxyacetophenone: This active has anti-irritant (soothing) and anti-oxidant effects. This means that it soothes the skin, while also protecting against environmental free radicals, damage caused from UV radiation, and premature aging.

Allantoin: This active can be found from many botanical sources, such as chamomile. It is known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, hydrating, and wound healing properties. It also has mild exfoliating properties, while allow skincare ingredients, such as humectants to penetrate the skin more deeply, and restore hydration.
