Why it's Dermoi

Find the right moisturiser for your skin. Moisturising every day is an important part of our skin care routines as it can reduce the chance of extreme dryness or oiliness.

The basic function of moisturising is to treat your skin when it is dry by improving the skin texture of the top layer of the skin known as the epidermis.

Strengthening the epidermis can prevent common skin conditions such as acne. We have carefully selected a range of moisturisers that have proven scientific results for all skin types.

Moisturiser Benefits

An effective face moisturiser hydrates the face by adding moisture to dry skin, but that’s not the only benefit of moisturisers.

Moisturisers are also effective anti-aging agents. They work to plump and firm the skin, while keeping fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

It’s also best to opt for a moisturiser with SPF, or alternatively to follow moisturising with an spf. It’s essential that we apply an spf daily, just as with our moisturiser. This is because the skin is constantly bombarded by harmful UV rays from both the sun and blue light (yes sadly that means our phone and laptop screens). UV rays cause damage to the skin and are one of the leading causes of premature aging. A moisturiser with SPF will help to prevent this.

Moisturisers also have soothing properties. Added ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Chamomile help to calm red, irritated skin and soothe dry, itchy patches.

Daily moisturising reduces skin problems and the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are damaging for the skin and can cause common skin conditions including acne.

The Best Moisturising Ingredients to Look Out For

Hyaluronic Acid has the unique ability to bind 1000 times its own weight in water. As a result of this it’s able to keep skin hydrated throughout the day. This ingredient is great for alleviating dry skin, plumping the skin and eliminating fine lines and wrinkles.

Another great ingredient often added to moisturiser creams is Shea Butter. As well as working to soften and hydrate the skin, it also has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin problems.

As well as this, Squalane is another ingredient often found in moisturisers. It is a natural oil that exists in the skin’s epidermis. As it mimics your skin’s natural oils it's a highly effective moisturiser for all skin types.

Furthermore, natural plant oils, such as Argan Oil, or Rosehip Oils are also great.

Whether you’re looking for a face moisturiser for dry skin, or a face moisturiser for oily skin, we have you covered. Browse our full range of effective moisturisers for all skin types below.
